The company has a simple ethos of developing locations full of atmosphere, character and charm. Local ales are sourced together with using the finest, local ingredients providing traditional food with a contemporary twist. Each pub is treated individually with an emphasis on locally sourced produce but all teams are customer focussed and work together to provide exceptional customer service. There is now the opportunity for a passionate Assistant General Manager to join the team at a property near Blackburn, Lancashire.
To work closely with the General Manager on the day to day running of the pub and deputise for the Manager on holidays and days off. Working with the team you will ensure sustained turnover and profitability and develop standards of food and service to a high level. Part of your responsibility will be to recruit, develop and train staff to high service standards.
- Play a pro active role in achieving all aims and objectives of the company
- Prepare the pub for service ensuring each shift is staffed correctly and all staff are briefed
- Performance management and appraisals for staff
- Recruiting, training, motivation and retaining staff.
- Working with your team to surpass high service standards making sure all guests enjoy their experience.
- Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of all menus, wines, spirits and pricing structures
- Advise guest on their choices of the menu
- Co-ordinating of all orders – ensuring best value for money
- Working with the GM to ensure all GP targets and turnover targets are reached
- Liaise with the kitchen team to ensure you are aware of any changes and new dishes on the menu
- Departmental administration duties including stock taking and ordering
- To promote mutual respect in the team by dealing with all staff fairly and openly
- Monthly stock takes
- Any other duties as directed by the GM
